I seek wisdom...

I see from my research that there are apparently TWO sets of Flash Gordon, the original serial from 1936. One is simply entitled "Flash Gordon". The other is entitled "Space Soldiers"

The Opening of "Flash Gordon" shows people moving around behind a superimposed title. "Space Soldiers" shows just a still picture behind the title. As the episodes progress, the episode title page (and the rest of the episode) are the same???

What gives?

Is "Space Soldiers" a modified version of the original serial? Sure looks like it.

"Space Soldiers" was the original serial retitled for British television.

Also at that time a Flash Gordon TV series was being made in Europe and was playing on television at that time. You can find those at many dollar stores and a few here in the Archives.
